Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the contact page on our website, or by emailing data@highlandmath.com. In addition, you may:

  • See what data we have about you, if any.
  • Change/correct any data we have about you.
  • Have us delete any data we have about you.
  • Express any concern you have about our use of your data.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. when you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline. Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for ‘https’ at the beginning of the address of the Web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer server) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

SERVICES PRIVACY POLICY

This section of the privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for Highland Math’s Services (the “Services”), including the data Highland Math processes on behalf of its corporate customers (“Clients”).

What data does Highland Math process:
Highland Math does not independently or directly collect personal information from individuals when providing Services. Highland Math provides Services that help Clients analyze and distribute their own data sets out to third-parties with whom the Client has a direct relationship. Highland Math receives data from Clients that the Client collects on its own or has the right to share with Highland Math.  This data may include information such as:
– De-identified consumer data profiles, such as data attributes associated with a hashed email address or a mobile advertising ID
– Product pricing data, inventory data, sales data, and other proprietary business financial information that is not linked to individuals
– Logistical and supply chain sensor and device data, which is not linked to individuals
– Other information processed by Clients that is not linked and cannot reasonably be linked back to an individual

What does Highland Math do with the information provided by Clients?
At the direction of the Client, we work with their existing data to help them package, distribute, and segment their data, which helps the Clients have data products the Client can then bring to market.. We do not sell any personal information provided to us by our Clients, and we do not sell any personal information to our Clients. In cases where Highland Math helps a Client distribute the Client data out to a third-party, a contract shall be in place between the Client and third-party to establish the relationship between the two entities and ensure that all applicable laws and regulations are being adhered to by the two entities.

How do Clients use Highland Math’s Service?
Our Clients use Highland Math to build data products for marketing, financial services, research & development, and more use cases.  The Clients then provide the data products to third-parties with whom the Client has a direct relationship. These third-parties use the data for analytics, insights, optimization, and more for their own business purposes.

Important Information for California Residents

This section applies only to California residents. It describes how we collect, use and share Personal Information of California residents in operating our business, and their rights with respect to that Personal Information.   • Access. You can request a copy of the Personal Information that we have collected about you during the past 12 months.
  • Deletion. You can ask us to delete the Personal Information that we have collected from you.

This means that we will not penalize you for exercising your rights by taking actions such as denying you services; increasing the price/rate of services; decreasing service quality; or suggesting that we may penalize you as described above for exercising your rights.

How to exercise your information access and deletion rights
You may submit a request to exercise your information, access or deletion rights by emailing data@highlandmath.com or calling us at 781-819-4278. We will need to verify your identity to process your information, access and deletion requests and we reserve the right to confirm your California residency. Government identification may be required. If you wish to designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, we will need to verify both your and your agent’s identities and your agent must provide valid power of attorney or other proof of authority acceptable to us in our reasonable discretion. We cannot process your request if you do not provide us with sufficient detail to allow us to understand and respond to it. In certain cases, we may be required or permitted by law to deny your request.

We do not sell your personal information.
Based on our current understanding of the CCPA, we do not “sell” your personal information as defined in the CCPA.

GDPR
GDPR stands for the General Data Protection Regulation, and is a new European Union law that regulates the personal data of individuals in the European Union.   Personal data of individuals is defined as any type of information that identifies or can be linked to an individual. In addition to the usual types of personal data (i.e., name, address, phone number, email), this definition can also include information such as online identifiers and any data tied to those identifiers.

At Highland Math,  we serve as a service provider, also known as a “processor”, to our Clients and we work at the direction of our Clients and adhere to the contractual provisions we have with our Clients.

Our Clients with EU end users may be required to comply with GDPR.  If they fall under the regulation, these Clients must have a lawful basis for processing data, have in place measures to carry out EU data subjects’ rights requests, and provide adequate data security, among other requirements.

The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment, and managed by reputable and widely used third-party data storage and database platforms who keep the data secure on our behalf. Highland Math has an internal data security policy that all employees and contractors agree to when they start their work.
